After years of trying to break into the game, Jay Electronica experienced a breakout year in 2010. Early in 2011, the ride continues as he has been working with Nas. Jay Electronica is credited by many as an intellectual Southern rapper. Despite being from the South, he does not rap with an accent.

Many have compared Jay Electronica to Jay-Z and he was flattered by the comparisons. However, he said he was only a fan of Jay-Z, not an imitation. While he was a fan of Jay-Z, Nas was always the favorite rapper of Jay Electronica. Working closely with him has been the chance of a lifetime.

This chance of a lifetime has opened Jay Electronica's eyes. He joined in on the ever-lasting "best rapper alive debate." There is no question in his mind who the title belongs to. After watching him as a fan and working with him early in his career, Jay Electronica hails Nas as the best rapper. Nas has been given this credit before, but he says it's too early to say who the best in the game is.
