Even though he has been the most dominant rapper in the game, setting records, Ja Rule's best time came when he was with his family. The side of Ja Rule no one had the chance to see was his wife and two children. Despite what he raps about, this is what really counts to Rule.
Four years ago, Ja Rule began putting his comeback together. Rule linked up with Lil Wayne and they recorded the "Uhh Ohhh!" single. The song was poised to become a hit when the label suddenly halted promotion. Ja Rule's comeback was derailed and he was left out in the cold.
In the middle of his comeback attempt, Ja Rule was arrested, alongside Lil Wayne. The two were in Harlem filming the video for "Uhh Ohhh!." Following the video shoot, they performed alongside Juelz Santana and Kanye West. After the show, both rappers began smoking marijuana and were both caught by the police protection and taken into custody.
Lil Wayne finished his prison sentence back in November and Ja Rule starts his in June. The only difference is Rule will have to serve two years. When his sentence ends, he will go on trial again and will likely spend another two years in prison for tax evasion. Rule will miss even more time from the game, but most importantly, he will miss his daughter graduating from high school and two years away from his family. That is what hurts Ja Rule the most, not the moves he will lose in his career.
