Ten years ago, the world was just getting to know Fabolous, as he had a verse on Lil' Mo's "Superwoman" hit. Lil' Mo was one of the top females in R&B, at the time. She was the woman Ja Rule counted on for his hooks. Running with Rule so long landed her a nice following of her own.

Fabolous and Lil' Mo were both signed to Elektra Records, along with Nate Dogg, at the time. Lil' Mo's buzz was used to build Fabolous. But, late in the summer of 2001, Fabolous had a breakout hit of his own. With Nate Dogg's unforgettable chorus, he emerged into the game.

A decade has passed since the release of "Can't Deny It" and now Nate Dogg has passed, as well. Four years had passed since the end of the East Coast/West Coast rivalry and things were still tense. But, with Nate Dogg, of the West Coast, getting on a record with Fabolous, of New York, the rivalry cooled down very much.

Fabolous said he regrets not doing more collaborations with Nate Dogg. Given the success he had with his debut single, Fabolous feels more success would have come. But, with his new album, Fabolous now finds himself being the veteran. Much like Nate Dogg to himself, Fabolous is working with newcomers on his next album. Loso's Way 2: Rise to Power will feature a mix of veteran producers and many newcomers, as well, and the album will be released on September 13, 2011.
