Most people know Big Sean because of his hit single, "My Last," with Chris Brown. The song was released early this year and has since become a summer smash. Had things gone Big Sean's way, he would not have the current hit under his belt.
For two years, Big Sean has been trying to release his debut album, named after his Finally Famous mixtape series. Last week, Big Sean got his wish. While Big Sean was releasing his album, Kanye West signed a secure deal with Def Jam.
Had it not been for the success of "My Last," Big Sean would likely still be waiting to release his album. Big Sean revealed he did not even want to record the song. However, No I.D. convinced him to record the song, asking him if he wanted to be a mixtape rapper forever.
Now, with Def Jam for the long haul, Big Sean addressed his rapping style, again. The rhyming style Drake made popular is currently being overused in rap. While the style has been popular, for years, Big Sean initially felt slighted because other rappers were building fame off his style. However, as time has gone on, he has taken pride in originating the style.
Not giving himself a chance to get old, Big Sean is already working on a mixtape that will be released in the next few weeks.
