Only days after the release of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, it was announced that Kanye West and Jay-Z would be putting together a collaboration album. The announcement caught the attention of Drake, who hinted that they stole the idea from he and Lil Wayne. While no one ever said where the idea came from, fans were excited.

The album was announced as Watch the Throne. This album would mark the first time Kanye West and Jay-Z shared the mic as equals. It would become a daily ritual to read something new about the album. With hype surrounding the album, early in 2011, the first single, "H.A.M.," was released. The song gained a cult following, but no single was released to follow it.

Until earlier this summer, almost all reports about the album had ended. With no talk about the album, it was nearly forgotten by most. However, the busy schedules hindered the release of the album. But, right before summer, Kanye West and Jay-Z took over another hotel and began recording again. Again, with the hype built, they decided to take time off from the album. Now, reports are saying the album will not be released until sometime in 2012.
