T.I. lands Eminem and Lady GaGa for "King Uncaged"
Today has been a great day for T.I., as he continues to work on his latest album, King Uncaged. Earlier today, he released the second single from the album, "Yeah, Ya Know (Takers)." The song features Chris Brown and it will be on the soundtrack of their new film, Takers. Having been out of the spotlight for a while, T.I. is aggressively reclaiming what was his.
Frequently, T.I. compares his album to the classic album released by Tupac Shakur in 1996, All Eyez on Me. Tupac released the album after his time behind bars in 1995. Many people saw that album as the ultimate back from jail album. Using this as his goal, T.I. plans to outdo All Eyez on Me with King Uncaged. Like Tupac, T.I. hopes to have multiple guests on the album.
Until now, nothing has been set in stone as far as collaborations go on King Uncaged. However, recently T.I. decided to join forces, once again, with Eminem. The two collaborated in 2007 on T.I.'s T.I. vs. T.I.P. album on the "Touch Down" track. For the first time in three years, the two will be doing a song together. Aside from landing Eminem for the album, T.I. has reached out to Lady GaGa for an experimental track.
T.I. plans to released King Uncaged towards the end of the summer on Grand Hustle and Atlantic Records. Read more...

T.I. is officially Free from Legal Troubles
For the first time since 2008, T.I. can say the words "I'm free" and truly mean them. Ever since he picked up his 2007 gun charge, T.I. knew that his life would change. Initially, he assumed that nothing would happen because of who he was. He would soon realize that no one was above the law. Towards the end of 2008, he was sentenced to one year and one day behind bars.
In his last days of freedom, T.I. spoke with the youth. He would even team up with MTV to create "Road to Redemption." On the show, he focused on helping out those less fortunate. T.I. used his gun charge as inspiration as opposed to a punishment. During his last day of freedom, the rapper walked with Al Sharpton to protest gang violence. When it was finally time for him to go behind bars, T.I. went with pride.
Because of good behavior, the hip hop community received a special gift. After only being in prison for seven months, T.I. was being let out early for good behavior. For the remainder of his time, they would place him in a Halfway House. With a curfew of 11:00 pm, T.I. was free to do whatever he pleased, as long as it was not against the law. Being the family man that he is, the first thing that he did was greet his longtime girlfriend, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, and his five children. Following his reunion with his family, T.I. returned to the studio.
Already back to being a major part of the lives of his children, T.I. released his first single since being free from the bars. Last month, he released his single, "I'm Back." On March 26, 2010, T.I. was able to say those two words and really speak the truth. Later this year, a new studio album from T.I. will be released. Read more...

T.I. is on the Comeback Trail
The fairy tale ride for T.I. that was 2008 came to a screeching hault. For years, he had been calling himself "King of the South," but he was just beginning to live up to the title. His lyrical level was at an all-time high and his music was finally number one with the people. However, during his time trying to reach the top, T.I. was caught with guns. This occurred in 2007, but the trial was not until 2008. He was given one year of prison time.
At the time, T.I. was on top of the rap game and if he had been thinking, he would have recorded a new album before he went behind bars. Sadly, he did not think ahead and he lost a year of productivity. When he came back, late last year, T.I. reestablished himself with his family. He did not make his first public appearance until last month. Now, T.I. has just began speaking with the media.
Just to let people know, T.I. released a new single, called "I'm Back." It has been out for a few days, but he officially released it today. The song is official and it will be the lead single from his next album. Now that T.I. has reestablished himself with his family and the media, he now plans to reestablish himself with his fans. He plans to release more singles throughout the year, while he is touring the nation. Before the end of the month, T.I. proclaims that all of this will be behind him. His prison sentence will be complete on March 26.
March 26 is not the only big day for T.I. in 2010. Perhaps his biggest day of the year will be August 24, the day that he releases his comeback album. There is still no title for this new album. Read more...
