By The Hip Hop Writer

Last year, Eminem proved pulling off a successful comeback was possible. Even with high record sales with Relapse, many people said Eminem had fallen off. His 2009 album was not met with high reviews. The hit single, "We Made You," was panned by critics.

In the spring of 2010, Eminem returned with "Not Afraid." With one single, Eminem regained the respect of the entire rap community. The run would continue following the release of his album, Recovery. Following "Not Afraid," his Rihanna-assisted single, "Love The Way You Lie," also topped the charts.

Eminem's incredible year has not gone unnoticed by the awards ceremonies. The most important award show has invited Eminem to perform. The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards has added Em to their performance lineup. Not only is Eminem slated to perform, he is also nominated for three individual awards, Best Rap Song, Song of the Year, and Best Rap Album.

By The Hip Hop Writer

This year, Eminem solidified himself to an audience of new hip hop fans with his comeback album, Recovery. When he initially came back last year, Em promised to return with two albums. But, his label felt he should pace himself and the waiting paid off.

Eminem only made plans to release one album this year, but the producer of "Love The Way You Lie" says another album will be released before Christmas. Alex da Kid, the British producer said new Eminem music will be coming.

Last year, to keep his promise to fans of releasing two albums, Eminem released Relapse: Refill. The album was a sequel, of sorts, to his original Relapse album. An additional seven songs were added to the original album and he may have plans of doing something similar.

There is no set release date, but Alex da Kid said the album will be released before Christmas.

Eminem talks Lil Wayne and possible "Recovery" tour

By The Hip Hop Writer

Only three years ago, Lil Wayne was establishing himself as the hottest rapper in the game. Despite being the biggest name in the game, Wayne wanted to work with other big names. The number one rapper on his list was Eminem. Each time Wayne tried to reach out to Eminem, he was met with no reply.

After Tha Carter III went triple platinum, things changed for Weezy as Eminem returned his call. During the summer of 2009, Wayne was able to officially sign Drake and Drake was able to land a collaboration with Eminem. While "Forever" was Drake's song, it was the first to feature both Wayne and Eminem.

The first Lil Wayne/Eminem collaboration came earlier this year on the Rebirth album in the form of "Drop the World." The result was the biggest single off the album. Realizing the two have chemistry, Em decided to invite Wayne to record on his Recovery album. Currently, their single, "No Love," is heating up the radio waves. The song is heating up right as Lil Wayne is preparing to come out of prison.

Eminem is very excited to see Lil Wayne come out of prison. Having been caged up since March, Eminem is excited to see what Wayne will come up with. Even though he was behind bars, Lil Wayne came out with his ninth studio album, I Am Not a Human Being last month. Now that he is free and with Carter on the brain, Em hopes he can finally jump on one of Lil Wayne's Carter albums. Outside of his work with Lil Wayne, there is the possibility of a tour for Recovery.

As it currently stands, Eminem does have a few shows he is putting on. However, the Detroit rapper does not have any plans to put together a full tour. Because he has been steadily moving since he began the promotion for Relapse, Eminem will not push himself as much in between albums. Later this year, Eminem is rumored to be going back into the studio to record his eighth studio album.

Eminem deserves "Hottest Rapper in the Game" title

By The Hip Hop Writer

Many critics have spoken out against MTV voting Eminem as the hottest rapper in the game for 2010. But, Eminem has been the most consistent voice in hip hop this year. The year of 2010 has been a bust, as far as hip hop is concerned. Major comebacks were expected from T.I. and J. Cole's debut album has yet to come.

Despite a strong effort with Thank Me Later, Drake has not been able to keep up. Yes, "Over" was a hit early this spring, but the song did not carry over into the summer. While "Find Your Love" charted high, it did not have the staying power and the radio play of the singles from Eminem. During each stage of the year, an Eminem song has dominated the radio.

At the very beginning of the year, Eminem was getting airplay due to the "Drop the World" single off Lil Wayne's Rebirth. Ironically, this single would end up being the biggest single off the Rebirth album. Late in the spring, Eminem returned with his own single, "Not Afraid," which debuted on top of the charts and stayed in the rotation until late in the summer. At one point, Eminem was dominating with two singles, "Not Afraid" and "Love The Way You Lie." The run Eminem has experienced this year is similar to Lil Wayne's dominance back in 2008.

Eminem has put the work in and his music is still dominating, as "Love The Way You Lie" is still receiving major radio play and Em's new single "No Love," with Lil Wayne, is rising the charts quickly. While other rappers have had a little bit of buzz, not even Lil Wayne's I Am Not a Human Being has been enough to take the focus away from Eminem. After the mixed response to his 2009 comeback effort, Relapse, Eminem spoke from the heart and he put together Recovery. With this album, Eminem planned to dominate the year of 2010 and he did just that.
