Frank Ocean talks working with Jay-Z and Kanye West

Odd Future has had an incredible year in 2011. Tyler, the Creator has gained mainstream attention and Frank Ocean had one of the biggest hits of the summer with "Novacane." Frank Ocean also landed a record deal with Def Jam.

Aside from his own solo work, Frank Ocean was recruited by hip hop's biggest figures, Jay-Z and Kanye West. They asked him to record with them on Watch the Throne. Frank Ocean is the first voice people hear on their album.

Frank Ocean recently spoke on the collaboration. The Odd Future singer revealed he rarely does collaborations. However, when he was asked to record with Jay-Z and Kanye West, Frank Ocean said he could not turn them down.

While he recorded on Watch the Throne, Frank Ocean says his first encounter with Jay-Z came when he recruited him to record on his debut album. Now, being comfortable with Jay-Z, Frank Ocean said he was super cool. His solo work with Jay-Z led to Frank Ocean recording on Watch the Throne. When he recorded, Frank Ocean said he recorded in front of Barry Weiss, Beyonce, Jay-Z and Kanye West.

Frank Ocean appears on "No Church in the Wild" and "Made in America."
