50 Cent talks issues with Interscope Records, Tupac Shakur shooting, and Ja Rule

By The Hip Hop Writer

As promised, 50 Cent released a single during the summer of 2011 to kick off his fifth studio album. The only problem with this is that his album may be delayed until 2012. For over four years, 50 Cent has been having trouble with his label. This is the primary reason he has moved G-Unit to a new distribution deal with EMI Records.

Recently, 50 Cent told Funkmaster Flex exactly what was going on between himself and Interscope Records. 50 Cent said he is usually ahead of the game when it comes to marketing and promotion. Because of this, he has many new ideas. The brass at Interscope Records are not interested in the new ideas 50 has.

With everything moving in slow motion, 50 Cent is considering leaving the label sooner than planned. During the interview, 50 Cent was asked about Dexter Isaac's confession about shooting Tupac Shakur. 50 Cent, who has been compared to Shakur, questioned why his shooter would confess seventeen years after the fact, plus with Tupac being dead. One reason they confessed is because they are upset with Jimmy Rosemond, 50 Cent feels. His empire is crumbling and he is out of the country, while his associates are taking the fall.

50 Cent also spoke on his situation with Ja Rule. While Rule said he is finally done with the beef, 50 Cent is not. He said he has some people behind bars that will make things difficult for Ja Rule. 50 Cent said when a person is ending a situation, they need to end it entirely. 50 feels he has done just that, saying he knows the exact cell Ja Rule is in, but refused to reveal it. Despite Ja Rule saying he will not interact with the other prisoners, 50 Cent said he has people on the street who say Rule is going to have a tough time.

Ja Rule talks Prison and G-Unit

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

The writing has been on the wall for well over a year, Ja Rule is facing prison time over his 2007 crimes. Before he was sent to prison, Rule had a list of accomplishments. First, he wanted to reunite with his former partner, Ashanti. Second, he wanted to pull off his comeback.

Ja Rule successfully reunited and is well on his way to finally pulling off his comeback. However, his long-awaited comeback album will be released while Rule is serving time. As he waited to go to prison, Rule discussed his arrangement.

The Murder Inc. rapper said his prison sentence would be different from what many expect. Because of his celebrity status, Ja Rule is confident he will not have to be with the general public. Ja Rule said guys like him are not released with the other prisoners.

Many things have changed for Ja Rule since his 1999 debut, but his feud with 50 Cent and G-Unit has remained the same. Even as Ja Rule faces four years of prison time, 50 Cent has still poked fun at him. As he waited to report to prison, Ja Rule took time to insult his rivals one last time. Rule said rap was ruined by the movement spearheaded by 50 Cent.

Because, according to Ja Rule, their movement was fueled by jealousy and hate, G-Unit helped to put hip hop in a bad situation. Ja Rule said rappers used to get together for softball games and other gatherings, before the beef rose to the forefront. But, following 50 Cent's entrace into the rap game, things grew tense again. One thing Ja Rule wishes for is a return to the way things used to be.

50 Cent talks past Jadakiss feud

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

In 2003, 50 Cent supposedly ended Ja Rule's career. Obviously, the memo was not sent to Murder Inc. In the middle of the G-Unit feud, Ja Rule decided to go back to recording the music that made the fans love him. The result of this was a top five hit, "Wonderful."

The song featured R. Kelly, at the time, the king of the R&B game, fresh off his work with Jay-Z. Ja Rule was back on top of the game and he had even made a song for the streets. Uniting with veteran rappers, Fat Joe and Jadakiss, Rule released "New York."

Before recording the song, Ja Rule extended an invitation to any rapper from New York who wanted to get on the song. After hearing the song and the support for Ja Rule, 50 Cent was highly upset. The entire New York hip hop scene had a part in the video.

50 Cent used this to his advantage when he decided to record his album. On the song "Piggy Bank," 50 went after Ja Rule, Fat Joe, and Jadakiss, along with Nas and Mobb Deep. The song warranted responses from everyone except Rule and Mobb Deep. Soon, 50 Cent found himself in the middle of a bitter feud with not only Jadakiss, but his entire D-Block camp.

For three years, 50 Cent traded disses with Jadakiss before they made a truce in 2007. Soon, Jadakiss became a part of ThisIs50.com and many other 50 Cent ventures. Recently, 50 Cent spoke on their past issues, clearing up any questions. 50 Cent said he and Jadakiss never had any personal issues against each other, it was just a part of the hip hop game.

Because they had no personal issues, it was easy for him to end the feud.

By The Hip Hop Writer

Before making it big in rap, 50 Cent used to rob people and sell drugs to make a living. When he entered the rap game, he used these tactics in order to gain attention. Early in his career, he picked fights with both Jay-Z and DMX.

While 50 Cent challenged Jay-Z and DMX, his feud with their partner, Ja Rule, is what made him famous. 50 Cent is credited by many for the donwfall of Ja Rule. Many of 50's rivals say something will humble him one day.

Recently, 50 Cent found himself in an unfamiliar situation, one that saw him as the victim. The G-Unit general found his American Express account had been used without his permission. Two men in the Hartford, Connecticut area were arrested for trying to buy two flatscreen television sets for $1,000 with 50's card.

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Following 50 Cent's jokes about his tax troubles, Ja Rule has lashed out at his longtime rival. Via Twitter, Ja Rule discussed the fight between the two rappers, in which he won. Rule went on to say he could "e-thug" on 50 because he has already beaten him up twice.

Obviously upset, Ja Rule took the conversation much further and spoke of his career. Before 50 Cent came into the game, Ja Rule was well on his way to legendary status. All he had to do was record with Ashanti and top the charts. But, 50 Cent made his style appear lame and Ja Rule's career was immediately over.

Ja Rule addressed this saying 50 Cent clowned him for his style, while using it at the same time. Over the years, 50 Cent has become known for his pop hits, as opposed to his gangsta hits, but no one calls him out. Ja Rule ended this rant saying 50 Cent is still a pussy.

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

With his legal troubles and his new albums, Ja Rule has been at the top of news headlines. Initially, Rule was only facing prison time because of his gun and drug possession. Earlier this week, however, he landed in more hot water with his tax troubles.

Ja Rule pleaded guilty to tax evasion and was immediately placed under police custody. From 2004 until 2008, Ja Rule saw no need in paying his taxes. However, the Murder Inc. frontman did not back away, he pleaded guilty.

It was only a matter of time before 50 Cent gave his opinion on the situation. Through Twitter, 50 Cent said he laughed so hard that he was crying. Calling Ja Rule a fool, 50 Cent said he must not want to pay his taxes.

Kool G Rap discusses Rap Beef

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

During the early post-Biggie/Tupac days in rap, beef was a major thing. For a short period of time, rappers actually respected each other. But, after the feud between LL Cool J and Canibus, the rappers were back at it again.

Following their feud, Jay-Z and Nas also entered one of the biggest battles to date. Unlike the feud between Biggie and Tupac, Jay-Z and Nas were solely lyrical. Initially, it was personal, but Jay-Z saw a way to market himself through it.

Years later, 50 Cent emerged in the game with a beef with Ja Rule. Their beef was legitimate, but he picked fights with other artists. Before the release of each album, 50 Cent finds someone new to start a feud with. The people have caught on to his gimmick and no longer support his feuds. It appears everyone is picking fights for record sales now.

Recently, rap veteran, Kool G Rap decided to discuss the topic. The veteran said rappers in today's time are not going into beef for the same reasons. He said other veterans would rap about material things, but their entire albums would not be made up of materialistic rhymes. There was a time when people had to put out good music in order to be received by fans. But, it appears those days are now long gone, as rappers beef for attention and they allow things to become violent. Kool G Rap said they did it to prove who was the best.

Ja Rule suffers Bad Day, reignites 50 Cent feud

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

For the past few years, Ja Rule has been trying to put together a comeback. However, he has run into all kinds of blocks ever since he returned three years ago. In the middle of his comeback attempt, Ja began a friendship with Lil Wayne. The friendship quickly grew and during July of 2007, the two were arrested for guns and drugs.

Late in 2007, Ja Rule and Lil Wayne appeared alongside Remy Ma and Busta Rhymes in court. With the exception of Busta Rhymes, all of the rappers ended up doing time in prison. Lil Wayne's prison stint was the most notarized, as he was released just last month. Ja Rule had hoped for a break, but he will be in prison for two years.

After the news broke, Ja Rule's rival, 50 Cent, began poking fun at him via Twitter. He told Rule to be strong because he only has to serve over 700 days, then called him a little punk. Once he read the posts, Ja Rule replied to 50 Cent, saying his comments were fucked up. Sensing he did take things a little too far, 50 Cent issued an apology to Ja Rule.

Some fans thought the enemies communicating could possibly lead to them ending their feud which has lasted over ten years. This seemed possible when Ja Rule seemingly made tweets about him hating Irv Gotti and asking 50 Cent why he ended his career. As the tweets continued, Ja Rule said he wanted to sign with the rival G-Unit Records for years. Fans soon began tweeting Ja Rule to see if he was alright. It quickly became clear his account was hacked and Ja Rule logged back in to blast 50 Cent for hacking his account.

There is no doubt that his account was hacked, but there is no proof that ties this to 50 Cent. One thing that is clear is that Ja Rule is nowhere near close to ending his feud with 50 Cent. Until someone comes out as the culprit, he is blaming 50 Cent for the meaningless tweets.
