Consequence done feuding with Kanye West, but not Q-Tip

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Former G.O.O.D. Music artist, Consequence, has been in battle mode for a year now. Last year, Pusha T signed to G.O.O.D. Music and immediately Consequence accused him of stealing his verse. Pusha T tired to laugh off the disses from Consequence, as he was also taking shots at Kanye West.

After leaving G.O.O.D. Music, Consequence turned things up to another level. Consequence also began taking shots at Q-Tip, his cousin who helped him enter the game. However, the bulk of his disses were aimed at Kanye West and Pusha T. This summer, Pusha T finally had enough and dissed Consequence, with West's permission.

Pusha T stated he hoped Consequence and Kanye West could have found common ground before he went after him. While the diss record is out and will continue to be out, Consequence announced he is no longer feuding with Kanye West. Consequence said the two rappers sat down and discussed their issues, which led to a resolution. Despite making peace with Kanye West, Consequence said he is far from done with his cousin, Q-Tip.

During his emailing session with Kanye West, Consequence said West asked him if he had settled things with his cousin, which he had not. However, Consequence said he heard Q-Tip had told a couple of hip hop sites he wanted to talk with Consequence. This is not good enough for Cons, as he would like for Q-Tip to get up with him, personally, since they are related. Consequence said Q-Tip is so out of character, he could never see the relationship repairing, or them being as close as they were.

Pusha T signs with Def Jam

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Last summer, Pusha T announced he was going to focus more on his solo ventures. For eight years, the public had known him as one half of the brotherly duo, The Clipse. Pusha T knew this and was focused on building his own name. With this, he signed with G.O.O.D. Music, the label owned by Kanye West.

With G.O.O.D., Pusha T dominated the mixtape scene. He was even able to record with Kanye West. Pusha T appeared on two tracks from West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Kanye West even chose Pusha T over Consequence in their battle. This decision still has Consequence shook.

This summer, Kanye West signed a new deal with Def Jam. For his entire career, Kanye West has been signed to Def Jam. He has also been the head of the G.O.O.D. label for this period of time. The artists signed to the label have been spread across different distribution deals. However, Kanye West re-signed his own deal with Def Jam and he added G.O.O.D. Music to the deal.

Despite Kanye West already moving G.O.O.D. Music under the Def Jam umbrella, Pusha T, a signed artist to G.O.O.D., has signed a solo deal with the label. Now, Pusha T is a G.O.O.D./Def Jam artist in its truest form. Before the end of 2012, he plans to release his long-awaited solo debut album.

Consequence's Twitter page hacked

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Over the past few months, Consequence has been firing off multiple shots at his former team, G.O.O.D. Music. Consequence was among the first artists signed to the label. Despite having much exposure, early in his run with the label, he was quickly backburnered.

Last year, Pusha T signed with G.O.O.D. Music and he was quickly a part of Kanye West's comeback album. Along with his mixtape appearances, Consequence soon called him out. Pusha T did his best to ignore his digs until he could not any longer.

With their feud coming to a head last week, Consequence appeared to apologize on Twitter. The rapper supposedly tweeted that he was apologetic about getting into a feud with Kanye West and Pusha T. Recently, Consequence has come forward to speak about this, saying it is unlike him to offer a Twitter apology.

Also, Consequence made it clear he had no intentions of ending the feud. He called the hacking "weakshit" and went on to say his rivals had "weak raps, weak moves, and weak niggas."

Pusha T breaks silence on Consequence

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Long before Pusha T signed with G.O.O.D. Music, one of the up-and-coming stars was Consequence. Hailing from New York, he was affiliated with Q-Tip, among others. His debut album, Don't Quit Your Day Job! was released to rave reviews.

However, when Consequence was ready to prepare his second album, he ran into problems. His second album was met with many delays. Postponed from 2008 to 2010, soon he found himself backburnered for other G.O.O.D. artists. Among those artists was 2010 signee, Pusha T.

Consequence has accused Pusha T of stealing his lyrics several times. Each time Cons called him out, Pusha T did his best to play the disses off. However, the latest diss was a little too much for the Virginia rapper. Consequence questioned his rhymes of cocaine dealing, among other things and it was a little too much for Pusha T.

Pusha T said he tried to stay out of the feud because of the history between Consequence and Kanye West, but he could no longer hold his silence. Initially, he thought Consequence's issues would blow over and they could all be on the same team. But, with each Cons diss more scathing than the last, Pusha T decided it was time to defend himself. Feeling disrespected by the Queens, New York rapper, Pusha T said nobody was even checking for Consequence.

While Consequence continues to diss both Pusha T and Kanye West, Pusha T said Kanye has never mentioned the beef to him and they have never talked about it.

Consequence disses Pusha T on "The Plagurist Society," says Kanye West is Next

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

The early days of G.O.O.D. Music were headlined by releases from the likes of Common, John Legend, and Consequence. Kanye West made a name for himself as the most-unique rapper in the game. His record label was a roster full of misfits, which is what made them successful.

Kanye West became more focused on G.O.O.D. Music when his longtime label, Roc-A-Fella Records, folded. West began searching for additional talent and developing them. Among the new artists signed during this period was Big Sean. Last summer, Pusha T was also added to the roster.

The addition of Pusha T is what would push Consequence over the edge. Cons made it clear he had issues with Pusha T, despite Pusha having no issues with him. Acknowledging their past friendship, Consequence said his lyrics were stolen by Pusha T. Despite the accusations, Pusha T denied them and said he and Cons were still friends. This led to Consequence announcing his departure from G.O.O.D. Music and Kanye West denying it.

Consequence said he was going to lead a lyrical assault against G.O.O.D. Music. Yesterday, the first diss record, "The Plagurist Society" was released. In the song, he questions Pusha T's cocaine dealer lines and rapped of his background in New York City. Towards the end of the song, Consequence announced he was going after Kanye West on the next diss record.

Consequence cuts ties with Kanye West and Q-Tip, Tip responds

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Ever since 2007, Consequence has been working on his sophomore album, Cons TV. The album was set to be released through Kanye West's imprint, G.O.O.D. Music. Kanye West was also supposed to provide production for the album.

Four years have passed and the album has still yet to see the light of day. Consequence has tried to avoid sounding irritated for the past few years. But, in recent talks with media outlets, he has sounded more and more fed up.

Recently, Consequence revealed he has ended his affiliation with his boss, Kanye West and his cousin, Q-Tip. West has not shown any interest in his project, so Cons dissed him on his newest songs. Tip has not been there, either, so he called him out too.

Upon discovering the comments, Q-Tip called Consequence out over his accusations. Q-Tip said he "gave that nigga a look," referring to featuring Consequence on his 1993 single, "The Chase." At the time, Cons was still a teenager. Tip also went on to apologize to Sway Calloway and MTV for Consequence's behavior when he talked with them.

Consequence has changed the title of his album from Cons TV to Get Even.

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Recently, Pusha T spoke with KarenCivil.com, giving the fans an update about his career. Pusha T debuted in 2002, alongside his brother, Malice as The Clipse. Earlier this year, the crew signed with superstar, Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music label.

New music is coming from the camp and Malice recently put together a freestyle called "Wretched, Pitiful, Poor, Blind, and Naked." The freestyle caught the attention of a lot of people and people want answers.

Speaking on the freestyle, Pusha T said Malice spoke from the heart about where he is at right now. He said no matter the situation, Malice is always coming from the heart no matter what. Pusha T said one reason to support Malice is because he is real.

Pusha T also spoke on the "Man Purses" song from Consequence, a diss from the G.O.O.D. Music rapper to the camp. He said he never spoke on the situation before, but he feels as if there is no real feud going on because Consequence has been on the label for a long time. Pusha T feels more than anything Cons is having a little spat with Kanye West and things will soon be back to business as usual.
