J. Cole talks Record Sales and props from Jay-Z and Beyonce

J. Cole is living proof of good things coming to those who wait. In 2009, several new rappers emerged in the game, with the focus being on Drake, J. Cole, and Kid Cudi. The first of the three new artists to drop an album was Kid Cudi. Drake followed with his debut in 2010.
Several new artists came and released their debut albums, meanwhile J. Cole continued to wait. At times, this may have been frustrating for J. Cole. Now, two years later, J. Cole has released his album and is currently the most-discussed rapper in the game.
It is safe to say things worked out for the best with J. Cole, as his album debuted at number one. Not only is J. Cole popular, he has also been met with critical acclaim. J. Cole said he received a call from Jay-Z, congratulating him, an email from Beyonce, and the most text messages he had ever received in his life, all giving him props for his sales. Read more...

Wale goes R&B on "Ambition" album

Following his short time at Interscope Records, Wale decided to leave the label. Rick Ross said he was considering signing Wale to his own Maybach Music label. Not many people took Rick Ross' comments seriously. But, in only a matter of months, Wale became the latest addition to Maybach Music.
Maybach Music, itself, was angling to be signed. After adding a large number of artists to the label, a bidding war took place. Several labels lined up to add Maybach Music to their roster. Birdman made the premature announcement of adding Maybach Music to his already-large, Cash Money Records.
In the end, Rick Ross decided to do business with Warner Bros. and released the label's first album in May. Now, Wale is preparing his second album, Ambition. Coming in less than a month, Wale is working with a number of artists on his new album. Most of these artists are R&B artists, as Wale wants more soul on his new album.
While the "Ambition" track features his Maybach Music label-mates, Rick Ross and Meek Mill, the album features appearances from Ne-Yo, Lloyd, and Miguel. Former rival, Kid Cudi will also be featured on the new album. Read more...

Kid Cudi speaks on the "Wizard" album

Sober for the first time in a long time, Kid Cudi does not see himself returning to drugs anytime soon. Last year, Kid Cudi spoke on how rap music bored him. The Cleveland rapper said he gets more thrills from rock music. As a result, Kid Cudi decided to create a rock album.
When he first spoke on the album, Kid Cudi announced it would be recorded with Dot Da Genius. The initial title of the album was The Wizards. Growing up, Kid Cudi said he always wanted to learn the guitar. Now, as a famous rapper, he is learning to play the instrument, as he branches out into rock.
Outside of playing instruments, Kid Cudi spoke about his career in hip hop. Kid Cudi said he is picky about who he does tracks with. At the same time, Kid Cudi said he is ready and willing to do a track with Kanye West or Jay-Z at any time. Stalley speaks on Ohio hip hop finally Gaining Buzz

For years, Ohio has been overlooked in the hip hop scene. However, with the emergence of Kid Cudi, other Ohio rappers have entered the game. Stalley is among the Ohio rappers forcing their way into the game.
Probably lost in the frey, Stalley was among the number of artists signed to Maybach Music. As a part of one of the hottest labels, the signing solidifies how big Ohio hip hop is becoming. Stalley credits himself, along with many others.
Stalley said Chip Tha Ripper, Kid Cudi, and Machine Gun Kelly are among the rappers putting Ohio on the map. While they are putting Ohio hip hop on the map, Stalley said there has always been talent here. Read more...

Machine Gun Kelly has "no issues" with Kid Cudi

Two of Cleveland's biggest rap artists, Kid Cudi and Machine Gun Kelly, have been going at it. Their beef stems from the Cleveland term, "raging." Both rappers claimed to have invented the term for hardcore partying.
After trading barbs with Wale for nearly a year, Kid Cudi is no stranger to beef. Despite his image as a peaceful rapper, Kid Cudi has gotten into it before. Kid Cudi has been more than ready to go after the newest signee to Bad Boy ever since the "raging" debate.
On his Tumblr page, Kid Cudi proclaimed there is only one "rager" and it is him. Kid Cudi said he created the term and the lifestyle. Crediting himself for changing the meaning of "rage," and its associated words, Cudi did everything except call Machine Gun Kelly out by name. Kid Cudi said it looks like he will have to do some copyrighting.
Machine Gun Kelly responded to Kid Cudi, saying he does not have any issues with the fellow "rager." He also said he is not going to get into a rap battle with someone over a word. Read more...

Wale and Kid Cudi team up for "Focused"

When they were both establishing themselves in the game, Wale and Kid Cudi relied on each other. Early in their respective careers, the two rappers were close. However, following the release of their respective 2009 debut albums, a feud began between the two rappers.
During an interview, Kid Cudi made a negative statement towards his former friend. From there, Wale called Kid Cudi out and the feud began. Having exchanged disses for nearly a year, the two decided to patch things up. Wale and Kid Cudi had a Twitter exchange, which led to a phone call.
Following the phone call, the two rappers became friends again and are working together again. Wale recruited Kid Cudi for a track on his Ambition album. The new song is called "Focused" and it will be the first collaboration (of many) since Wale and Kid Cudi decided to end their nearly year-long beef. Read more...

Wale explains Kid Cudi truce, says its Bigger Than Hip Hop

Now a member of Maybach Music, Wale decided to take a trip down memory lane. After having a great friendship with fellow newcomer, Kid Cudi, the two engaged in a feud. However, the two managed to end their feud earlier this year.
Wale said Kid Cudi contacted him via Twitter. Following his message, the two decided to talk. Once they talked, the friendship was immediately reinstated. Because they were friends, aside from the beef, it did not take much.
Recently, Wale opened up about why the feud was so easily ended. The DC rapper said he and Kid Cudi opened up about why they were mad. When everything was out in the open, they were able to work through things and make peace.

Early in his career, Kid Cudi boasted about his addiction to smoking marijuana. Many of his mixtape songs are dedicated to how high he has gotten over the years. His claim to fame is his 2009 hit, "Day 'n' Nite," a song about being high.
However, last month, Kid Cudi said he decided he was no longer going to get high. Being in his line of work means Kid Cudi has to be aware of what is going on. Getting high is a major disadvantage in the business world, which Cudi wants to know more about.

Kid Cudi now lives Drug Free lifestyle

The world was formally introduced to Kid Cudi in 2009. He officially released his "Day 'n' Nite" single and the people loved it. In the song, he alludes to drug use. Many people who get high for recreation chose Kid Cudi's music to listen to during these activities.
During the late summer of 2009, Kid Cudi released his popular debut album, Man on the Moon. The title of the album, along with the theme of it, alludes to more drug use. Kid Cudi once boasted of how those themes were his "mojo."
Hoping to release his third album this year, Kid Cudi has decided to change things up. He has given up drugs because he wants a sober mind. Now that he has given up drugs, he will no longer promote drug usage through his music.
Kid Cudi said he is now 27 years old and he has a business to run. With that said, he decided he would leave the weed smoking to the kids. However, Kid Cudi did say he encouraged people of all ages to kick the habit and focus on the positive aspects of life. Big Sean's debut album delayed until June

In June 2010, G.O.O.D. Music announced Big Sean would release his debut album in September 2010. Big Sean has been on the underground scene for the past few years. His debut album has been the center of discussion for some time.
Initially, Big Sean's debut album was delayed for Kid Cudi. Cudi, the breakout G.O.O.D. artist of 2009, was trying to recreate magic with a sequel to his debut album. In order to properly promote for Cudi, the Big Sean album was delayed.
The focus was immediately shifted to Kanye West after the release of the Kid Cudi album. West had been banished by the media and had finally returned. His single, "Power," was released late in the summer and "Runaway" was being tested.
Earlier this month, there were reports of Big Sean releasing his album, Finally Famous: The Album in the next two months, in May. However, new stories are now saying the album will be released on June 21. The album will be released on G.O.O.D. Music and Def Jam. Read more...

Wale talks Kid Cudi feud and Friendship

Initially, Wale and Kid Cudi were very close friends, both hailed as the future of hip hop. Last year, however, their friendship turned into a major feud. The two spent most of 2010 trading insults through Twitter.
Earlier this year, Wale and Kid Cudi ended their feud and are back to being friends. Already, the two rappers have recorded songs together. Kid Cudi plans to feature Wale on his upcoming album and Wale will return the favor.
Wale recently addressed the newfound friendship and their past feud. He explained how close friends can really fall out when they get mad. But, it was easier for them to make up because of this friendship.

Kid Cudi leaves Dream On after Two Years

Currently, Kid Cudi is at a transitional point in his career and he is making some changes. One person he has been able to count on to support his moves is Kanye West. Because of this, he has been a great fit at G.O.O.D. Music.
When he signed to G.O.O.D. Music, Kid Cudi also signed to another label, Dream On. For the past two years, Cudi has been signed to the label. But, he has decided it is time for him to leave and look for another situation.
Kid Cudi praised the team at Dream On, but said he needed a change that had nothing to do with them. In the end, Cudi wished them the best of luck. The plans he has for the future sadly do not involve them, but he will remain with G.O.O.D. Music. Read more...

Kid Cudi preps Rock Album for Summer Release

In November 2010, Kid Cudi revealed he had grown bored with rap music and was moving on. He no longer saw a challenge with the genre and he is always up for a challenge. Kid Cudi admitted he did not care for much rap music, outside of his own work. Instead, Cudi was a fan of rock.
Not only is Kid Cudi a rock fan, but he also announced his plans to become a rock artist. He teamed up with a few other rock artists and created a new rock group. Kid Cudi announced most of his energy would go into making music with the new group. The Cleveland rapper said to expect an album soon.
Two months after Kid Cudi dumped rap, he has announced the upcoming album with his group, The Wizards. Following his return to social networking site, Twitter, Kid Cudi opened up on the upcoming album from his group. Album Preview: T.I. - "No Mercy"

After coming out of prison, T.I. re-entered the spotlight with his single, "I'm Back." It was the lead single for his properly-titled album, King Uncaged. But, as he was uncaged, the king found himself in trouble that landed him back in jail.
Upon learning he had to return to jail, T.I. changed the name of his album to No Mercy. Since he let his fans down twice, T.I. felt as if he did not deserve any mercy. Also, to all of his haters, T.I. will not be showing any mercy.
His first album in two years, T.I. has teamed up with the stars to celebrate his return. With an album loaded with collaborations, T.I. leaves the fans with something they will remember for years to come.
