Rick Ross talks New Projects, working with Just Blaze, and More

Rick Ross has dominated 2011, even without releasing an album of his own. Three months after establishing the distribution deal with Warner Bros. Records, Rick Ross released Self Made, Vol. 1 with his Maybach Music team. For Ross, that was just the beginning, as he has more releases on the way.
Before he even began adding artists to Maybach Music, Rick Ross revealed he was working on his fifth studio album. The new album is boldly titled God Forgives, I Don't. Rick Ross usually releases his albums before or during the summer. This summer was a usual Rick Ross summer, but his album did not come.
Rick Ross mentioned the album during Meek Mill's video shoot, saying it was coming soon. Both DJ Khaled and Drake said the album was a classic. This week, Rick Ross released two singles from the album, both featuring Nicki Minaj. With the singles, it was announced God Forgives, I Don't would be released on December 13.
Aside from his album, Rick Ross said he would likely release a new mixtape soon. In addition to releasing a new mixtape, Rick Ross also said he wants to do another Maybach Music album before the end of 2011. Referencing his album, Rick Ross said it would be his biggest album, to date. Previously, Rick Ross has stated the album would make him the biggest rapper in the game. One of Ross' singles, "I Love My Bitches," was produced by Just Blaze and Ross said he worked with him to bring back the 90s hip hop sound. Read more...
Album Preview: Pusha T - "Fear of God II: Let us Pray"

Earlier this year, Pusha T released his critically-acclaimed mixtape, Fear of God. After the release of the mixtape, the fans were left wanting more. Pusha T promised fans he would soon release a sequel to this mixtape.
Finally ready to expand his career, Pusha T decided to begin working on his debut album. The sequel to his mixtape will be Fear of God II: Let us Pray. Pusha T intends to release the album on November 8, a little over a month from now on G.O.O.D. Music.
"Trouble on My Mind," Pusha T's summer hit with Tyler, the Creator, will be included on the album. Also, behind the scenes footage from the video will be featured on the album. Appearances from Diddy, French Montana, Rick Ross, Kanye West, and others will be on Pusha T's debut.

Fred The Godson discusses DJ Clark Kent and DJ Drama mixtape

Among the people bringing New York hip hop back is Fred the Godson. Hailing from The Bronx, some have tried comparing the newcomer to the late Notorious B.I.G. Those sentiments have not come from everyone, though. Still, most have agreed Fred is a very gifted rapper.
DJ Clark Kent, a man who worked with The Notorious B.I.G., along with Jay-Z, has been made into a believer. Upon meeting the famed producer, Fred the Godson said they immediately hit if off, establishing a relationship. Fred the Godson said he was amazed when Clark Kent co-signed him.
Fred the Godson said it was an honor to be co-signed by the same man who co-signed Biggie and Jay-Z. It was Fred the Godson's friend, PJ from Mount Vernon, who helped them meet. Fred was told by DJ Clark Kent he would be one of the greatest if he continued to go at the rate he was going, making classic records.
Another famous DJ Fred the Godson is working with is DJ Drama. His Gangsta Grillz mixtape will be called Fred and Friends. The mixtape will support a lead single, which features Diddy, Meek Mill, and Cory Gunz/ Fred the Godson said the mixtape has nothing less than album-quality material. Being unsigned is the only reason the mixtape will not be sold in stores. Fred the Godson spoke on his single, "Gettin Money... Pt. 2," saying the mixtape would be an album, if not for him being unsigned and the DJ Drama affiliation.
Fred the Godson went on to say Fred and Friends would be better than 95% of the albums coming out. Read more...

Rick Ross to perform at 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards

The year of 2011 has been another fantastic year for Rick Ross, as he has had verses on some of the hottest songs. Rick Ross has already had performances at the 2011 BET Awards and the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.
Rick Ross is also set to perform tonight at the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards. Ross will not be the only artist performing tonight. Other rappers, such as Lupe Fiasco and Wiz Khalifa will also be performing.
The 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards will feature performances from Rick Ross, Lupe Fiasco, Wiz Khalifa, Maybach Music's Meek Mill and Wale, along with a few others. The awards show will take place tonight, but will broadcast on October 11 at 8:00 pm. Read more...

DJ Drama says New T.I. single coming Next Week

When they were both still rising in the game, DJ Drama and T.I. relied upon each other. Going back and forth to prison, T.I. has not been able to count on many people. DJ Drama has stuck by his friend through it all. Now, on the comeback trail, T.I. has turned to DJ Drama.
DJ Drama has been working on projects with various artists, including Young Jeezy and Meek Mill. While he has been working with many artists, DJ Drama has had the time to work with T.I. With T.I. just getting out of prison a few weeks ago, the two have already recorded together.
Meeting with T.I. at a halfway house, DJ Drama revealed they have recorded together. DJ Drama said he already produced eight songs for T.I. With T.I. set to leave the halfway house in a week, DJ Drama says his new single will be out and he will be ready for the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards. In spite of T.I. being free by then, it is unknown if he will actually attend the award show. Read more...
Wale goes R&B on "Ambition" album

Following his short time at Interscope Records, Wale decided to leave the label. Rick Ross said he was considering signing Wale to his own Maybach Music label. Not many people took Rick Ross' comments seriously. But, in only a matter of months, Wale became the latest addition to Maybach Music.
Maybach Music, itself, was angling to be signed. After adding a large number of artists to the label, a bidding war took place. Several labels lined up to add Maybach Music to their roster. Birdman made the premature announcement of adding Maybach Music to his already-large, Cash Money Records.
In the end, Rick Ross decided to do business with Warner Bros. and released the label's first album in May. Now, Wale is preparing his second album, Ambition. Coming in less than a month, Wale is working with a number of artists on his new album. Most of these artists are R&B artists, as Wale wants more soul on his new album.
While the "Ambition" track features his Maybach Music label-mates, Rick Ross and Meek Mill, the album features appearances from Ne-Yo, Lloyd, and Miguel. Former rival, Kid Cudi will also be featured on the new album. Read more...
