Lupe Fiasco marches in Wall Street protest, speaks on New World Order

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Late last year, Lupe Fiasco returned to the game, after being away for a few years. Initially, Lupe Fiasco intended to release his third album in 2008. However, due to his content, Atlantic Records began giving him the runaround. Before coming back, Lupe Fiasco had a bout with suicide, among other things.

Upon releasing Lasers, Lupe Fiasco sold well over 200,000 copies in his first week and his singles were also successful. His Trey Songz-assisted "Out of My Head" single, became one of the biggest hits of the summer. Still, Lupe Fiasco made the most noise due to his controversial single, "Words I Never Said."

Aside from the music, Lupe Fiasco has been very outspoken. He has called out President Obama on a number of occasions. The president has not been the only victim of Lupe Fiasco, the entire government has. Taking a stand, Lupe Fiasco, along with a number of Americans gathered on Wall Street for the protest called "Occupy Wall Street."

Currently, the president is fighting for higher taxes on the wealthy and Lupe Fiasco can agree with him on something. Lupe Fiasco spoke on the high oil prices, which has led to the War on Terrorism, which has taken the United States into wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. People have been dying for eight years over this fight and there is still no resolution. Lupe Fiasco questioned this and he spoke out against the capitalist economy.

Lupe Fiasco asked the government to be honest about why they are fighting. If they are truly just fighting over a terrorist attack, Lupe Fiasco says "let it be known." Speaking during the protest, Lupe Fiasco said he feels this is all headed by the New World Order.

See what else Lupe Fiasco had to say in the video below:

J. Cole lands Trey Songz collaboration

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

In 2008, when he was hand-picked by Jay-Z as the first artist on Roc Nation, J. Cole was excited. After Jay-Z finished his business with Def Jam, J. Cole was sure he would be recording his album. However, things did not work out that way.

Instead, J. Cole found himself helping Jay-Z with his comeback, The Blueprint 3. The album went on to become the highest-rated album of 2009. His verse on the song, "A Star is Born," would stick out. After the release of "Light's Please," fans thought J. Cole's album was on the way.

However, it was announced that J. Cole's album would be released in the summer of 2010. In the spring, J. Cole provided an anthem, "Who Dat." A video was filmed for the song, but still no release date was set for the album, which he titled Cole World. Before long, the fall was approaching and Jay-Z was making plans for Willow Smith and her debut album.

J. Cole was signed in 2008 and told he was the flagship artist of the new label. Despite what he was told, he has been on the backburner most of the way. Currently, his debut album, Cole World, is slated for release sometime in 2011. In preparation for this album, J. Cole has decided to record a single that will be undeniable. He is teaming up with R&B fan favorite, Trey Songz, who is also the face of Rocawear's ad campaign for 2010/2011, a hopeful win-win.

While he is eager for people to hear his second collaboration with Trey Songz, J. Cole said he does not want to give a release date. J. Cole does not want to end up letting the fans down again.

Diddy prepares "Bugatti Boys" EP with Rick Ross

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Last year, Diddy and Rick Ross became the best of friends and there were rumors of a partnership. Earlier this year, Diddy took over as Ross' manager. This summer, Diddy appeared on Ross' album, Teflon Don. On the song, "Number 1," Diddy names himself and Ross the Bugatti Boys.

Following the release of the album, Rick Ross confirmed that he and Diddy were now the Bugatti Boys. Their first song together was the Trey Songz-assisted "Number 1." Any time an artist features both Diddy and Rick Ross, the collaboration is listed as the Bugatti Boys instead of Diddy and Rick Ross.

In an effort to make things more official, Diddy recently announced he and Rick Ross will be teaming up to create an EP for their dynamic duo. Diddy admitted he and Ross had recorded some music together and he feels as if it is only right to release it. While the record will be release, Diddy said he doubts it will end up in stores.

Fat Joe boasts about Trey Songz collaboration

Yesterday, Fat Joe released his long-discussed Trey Songz collaboration, "If It Ain't About The Money." Once he revealed he was recording a new album, Fat Joe has named Trey Songz as one of the guests. After talking about the album for almost six months, it was heard for the first time on May 24, 2010.

While the song was released yesterday, it will take some time before the song actually gains airplay. The song is currently dominating the radio in the New York area. But, it will be some months before the song receives airplay outside of its own area. Fat Joe is confident the song will change his fortunes when it is released.

Describing his new song, Fat Joe said the game will not be the same once everybody hears it. Fat Joe said a change will take place in the streets. Not only will the change take place in the streets, but change will also take place within the city. There have been doubts of Fat Joe's legendary status despite him being a veteran.

However, after the release of this song and once the people hear it, Fat Joe is confident in his legacy being cemented.

Ludacris said "The Hangover" inspired the "Sex Room" video

For the past few days, Ludacris has been discussing the latest single from his Battle of the Sexes album. Ludacris was very close to retiring from the game, but working on this album led to him falling back in love with the game. The album featured the chart-topping lead single, "How Low."

Coming off of the success of his spring single, "My Chick Bad," Luda is looking to put a lock on the summer. He feels his Trey Songz-assisted, "Sex Room" single can do this for him. Throughout his career, Ludacris has always been a nasty rapper. But, for some reason, he has always been a hit with the kids.

For this reason, Ludacris has come up with two different videos for his latest single. One video will be for the kids who love his music dearly. The other video, however, will be for the adults. Another icon meant for the adults and loved by the kids is The Hangover. The film from last summer has been the model for the "Sex Room" videos.

The adult video will be filmed in Las Vegas, Nevada and Ludacris said the concept of the video comes right from The Hangover. Luda described the video as he and Trey Songz doing what they do best.
