Amil wants closure from Jay-Z

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

During the mid-1990s, one of the rising femcees was Amil, the female rapstress for Roc-A-Fella Records. Learning the game from Jay-Z, she was on the fast track to success. Aside from her verses on such hits as "Can I Get A...," Jay-Z's hit alongside Ja Rule, she was featured on every Jay-Z album from 1998 until 2000.

However, following the release of The Dynasty and her own debut album, Amil disappeared. Many assumed there was a major falling out between Jay-Z and Amil. Even when there is controversy, Jay-Z does a good job at keeping it under wraps. For the longest time, there have been rumors of Amil working at Macy's, upset with Jay-Z.

Recently, a Twitter account in her name took shots at a number of celebrities. Among the stars she took aim at were Foxy Brown and current rap kingpin, Rick Ross. With her name back in the headlines, Amil decided to come forward and address the rant. Amil revealed the Twitter account did not belong to her, as she does not have a Twitter nor Facebook.

Amil said she still has love for Jay-Z and he knows this. However, she does want to get in contact with him because she wants closure.

Nas speaks on Foxy Brown, Amy Winehouse, Lil' Kim, Nicki Minaj, and feud with Cormega

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

With so many new voices and faces in the game, it is easy to forget about Nas. The last time he released a new album was three years ago. Despite achieving critical acclaim on his project with Damian Marley, the album did not receive much play.

While Nas may have been overlooked by some, he is well aware of what has gone on. Recently, Nasty Nas was very interactive on his Twitter account. Taking questions from his fans, Nas spoke on everything going on in his life. Ranging from serious topics, to off the wall, Nas talked.

Early in her career, Foxy Brown worked closely with Nas, but over the years, they have separated. During the height of his feud with Jay-Z, Nas called Jay out over his relationship with Foxy Brown. Despite all of this, Nas and Foxy Brown have maintained a strong relationship and Nas said she is his little sister.

On the topic of female rappers, Nas was asked to deliver his opinion about Lil' Kim and Nicki Minaj. For nearly a year, the two femcees went head-to-head. Nas said comparing the two rappers makes little to no sense. When speaking of Lil' Kim, Nas said she has some "legendary shit." Nicki Minaj, on the other hand, is the new queen of the world, in Nas' book. Trying his best to stay out of their situation, Nas was able to praise both of them, without taking away from the other.

Before her death, Amy Winehouse said she admired Nas. When asked of the people she would have loved to perform with, Nas was at the top of her list. At the time, Nas said he liked her brand of music and would love to record with her. Sadly, this did not happen, as Winehouse passed away last month. Remembering her, Nas was asked about Amy Winehouse. The Queens rapper said he was saddened by her death and also referred to her as his little sister.

Following the project with The Firm, Nas talked about his past feud with Cormega. Despite things getting bad between the two, Nas said their issues are in the past. Moving forward, Nas said he no longer has issues with Cormega. Nas also discussed the music he listens to, admitting he is a big Waka Flocka Flame fan and briefly speaking on his failed marriage with Kelis.

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

This weekend, Foxy Brown has been in plenty of trouble. It was revealed the she had been a part of Tom Joyner's "Fantastic Voyage" cruise. The key word is 'had' because she ended up being kicked off the cruise because she was disruptive.

Tom Joyner revealed this on his morning radio show. The host admitted it takes a lot to be kicked off one of his party cruises. Saying this, it means Foxy Brown truly was a disturbance to everyone on the cruise.

After hearing the rumors, Foxy Brown called Tom Joyner out and dissed him. Brown said she left the cruise on her own. She had gone out to visit Shyne in Belize and to take a small vacation. When everything was over, Foxy Brown returned home.

However, other members of the cruise are telling a different story. They said problems rose when Brown had a fit when she missed a nail appointment on the ship. From then on, she was a disturbance to everyone and it led to her being kicked off the "Fantastic Voyage."

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

New York femcee, Foxy Brown, has found herself back in the news over the weekend. During her time off, she has been a part of the yearly Fantastic Voyage cruise with Tom Joyner. Before actually going on the cruise, Joyner interviewed Brown for his morning talk show.

Last week, news broke of Foxy Brown being kicked off the cruise because of her attitude. Tom Joyner confirmed this news, saying a plane met the boat to take Foxy. The radio host went on to say, it takes a lot to get kicked off one of his cruises. Tom Joyner parties are known to get wild.

Foxy Brown has finally addressed the stories and she is highly upset with Tom Joyner. Brown said she had not responded to him because of his age. But, once he called her out again, Foxy Brown decided to set the record straight, saying she was meeting Shyne in Belize for a vacation. She also said Joyner lied about her being disruptive, saying it was nothing but love the entire time she was in on the boat.

Foxy Brown kicked off Tom Joyner's cruise

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Ever since "Christmas Massacre," Foxy Brown has been out of the news for a while. When Lil' Kim was throwing insults at Nicki Minaj each time she had an opportunity, Foxy Brown was one of the biggest defenders of Minaj.

While Foxy Brown has been out of the spotlight, she has been trying to work with Tom Joyner. A few weeks ago, Brown called into his show, but the called abruptly ended. Joyner did not go in-depth, but he said Foxy ended the call.

She has been a part of the "Fantastic Voyage" cruise and was kicked off. Tom Joyner said a person really has to act a fool in order to be kicked out of one of his events. Foxy Brown was kicked off and a plane met her in the ocean.

Foxy Brown talks Lil' Kim and Nicki Minaj

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

For those new to hip hop, they may assume Lil' Kim is new to the game. But, for those who know hip hop, they know she is a veteran and no stranger to beef. Lil' Kim has been waiting for some time to release her comeback album. During the wait, Nicki Minaj saved the female rappers.

Long before Nicki Minaj even graduated high school, Lil' Kim was making music. Early in her career, she began feuding with Foxy Brown, a female rapper with basically the same style. Despite their heavy beef, they worked with many of the same artists. Lil' Kim has used Nicki Minaj for her comeback and Foxy has been riding her.

Recently, Foxy Brown openly discussed the feud and she offered a bit of advice to Lil' Kim. Foxy feels Lil' Kim should have kept her feelings about Nicki Minaj private. Over the years, Lil' Kim has had issues with several prominent females in the game. She has dissed Foxy Brown, Faith Evans, Charli Baltimore, and now Nicki Minaj.

Foxy Brown thinks Lil' Kim should have waited and let the people decide before she called Nicki Minaj out for stealing her style. Before Lil' Kim dissed Nicki, however, Foxy Brown had stated she was unimpressed by the Young Money femcee. But, with Lil' Kim sending so many diss records, Foxy has changed her stance in the feud. Now, she feels Nicki Minaj developed elements of her style from both she and Kim. Brown went on to say she does not find the feud "cute" and she said Nicki has been very respectful, for the most part.

Foxy Brown denies Fashion Show rumors

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Foxy Brown has been all over the news over the past few months for various reasons. The success of Nicki Minaj led to Lil' Kim plotting a comeback that has been successful. While Lil' Kim was busy making a new enemy, her old one was waiting for the right time to pounce.

Last month, Foxy Brown released "Christmas Massacre," her long-awaited diss aimed at Lil' Kim. Taking a break from her barrage of disses for Nicki Minaj, Lil' Kim recently responded. She took a slight jab at her 2005 deafness, saying she is surprised Foxy even heard the diss.

Yesterday, there were rumors of Foxy Brown getting into an altercation at a Manhattan fashion show. She showed up intoxicated and late. Because of this, she was asked to leave the venue. Upset, the Brooklyn rapper locked herself in the bathroom. The news has flooded several websites and has left her steaming.

Earlier today, Foxy Brown hit back at the bathroom rumors. She said the entire story was made up, as she was on time and sober. There was no altercation, as Foxy Brown said people were in and out of the bathroom and she was with the security for most of the event.

Lil' Kim responds to Foxy Brown's "Christmas Massacre" diss

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Lil' Kim has finally taken a break from dissing Nicki Minaj to focus on her old nemesis, Foxy Brown. During the 1990s, the two had an infamous battle. Their beef, like Lil' Kim and Nicki Minaj, came from their similar styles. Despite having a heavy beef, the two collaborated with any of the same artists.

In the days before Christmas 2010, Foxy Brown began dissing Lil' Kim through various outlets. She had scheduled a performance on Christmas day to diss Lil' Kim. Foxy Brown was going to perform her new single, titled "Christmas Massacre." The song was going to be the official end of her rival, Kimberly "Lil' Kim" Jones.

However, family issues kept Foxy Brown from performing the song on the actual Christmas date. Early in the New Year, the song was leaked and Foxy blamed the leak on Lil' Kim. But, she performed the song any way and received a bit of publicity from it. But, Foxy Brown did not receive the response she had been looking for, as Lil' Kim was solely focused on Nicki Minaj.

Recently, Lil' Kim took the time out to respond to Foxy Brown. Poking fun at her 2005 deafness, Kim said she doubted Foxy Brown had even heard the song. She laughed the questions off and refused to say anything else about Foxy.

Royce Da 5'9 and Joell Ortiz discuss Slaughterhouse

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

With Slaughterhouse finally being signed to a record deal, fans are excited. Despite the super-team finally being created, some people fear of them coming out too soft. Many times, super-pairings, do not turn out as expected.

Slaughterhouse is only the latest in attempts of many rappers to come together. In 1997, The Firm, which consisted of Nas, AZ, Foxy Brown, and Cormega, released their debut album. As if the teaming was not major enough, The Firm's album was produced by Dr. Dre and released through Aftermath Entertainment.

The Firm's album flopped, only going platinum, when some expected the record to outsell Thriller. But, with the new Slaughterhouse group, no one is expecting major record sales. Instead, fans are expecting a lyrical warpath with Joell Ortiz, Royce Da 5'9, Joe Budden, and Crooked I. For all of those beginning to have doubts, Royce Da 5'9 and Joell Ortiz recently discussed the group's next release. The two said their music will bring about the return of lyricism to hip hop and will help cement Shady Records as a true hip hop label.

Shady Records has been struggling outside of Eminem for the past few years, but Slaughterhouse promises to provide more hits for the label.

Nicki Minaj does not have to diss Lil' Kim

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Ever since she broke into the mainstream, Nicki Minaj has been targeted by Lil' Kim. The Brooklyn femcee claims Nicki stole her style and she has been determined to make her pay. Lil' Kim has been desperate to discredit Nicki Minaj. She has gone at Diddy, Drake, and Lil Wayne.

Earlier this month, Lil' Kim took things a little too far. She felt Nicki's collaboration with Keyshia Cole, "I Ain't Thru," was a diss towards her. Despite the song being out for over a month, Lil' Kim said she was tired of being disrespected. In 2007, she collaborated with Cole, but she recruited Mary J. Blige to go at her.

Nicki Minaj initially said she would not respond to Lil' Kim disses, but she broke that promise. In October, Lil' Kim called a truce and Nicki recorded "Roman's Revenage" and went after her. From there, the gloves were off and Lil' Kim began focusing on the "Black Friday" diss and the video. While Lil' Kim has focused on that, Foxy Brown came out and dissed Lil' Kim with "Christmas Massacre."

During the summer, Foxy Brown was asked how she felt about Nicki Minaj. Lil' Kim had then revealed she did not like the black Barbie. While Foxy Brown made it clear she still did not like Lil' Kim, she also said she did not like Nicki Minaj. Lil' Kim and Foxy Brown were among the many female rappers who came out of irrelevance to diss Nicki. While they share a common beef, it is not enough for Foxy to jump in the middle of the Nicki/Kim beef. Instead, she is going to continue taking shots at Lil' Kim.

In 2005, Lil' Kim laughed at Foxy Brown getting beaten up by Jacki-O. On her "Quiet" song, a diss to Foxy, she rapped "Jacki-O proved you're far from a fighter." Jacki-O has also had a highly-publicized feud with the fellow New York femcee rival of Lil' Kim. However, recently, Jacki-O revealed she was not all that fond of the queen bee either. After hearing her about her new alias, 'Kimmy Blanco,' Jacki-O took offense and began dissing her too. Now, ironically, Jacki-O and Foxy Brown are on the same side against Kim.

Suddenly all the discussion about Nicki Minaj retaliating is no longer existent. Now, hip hop sites, critics, and fans, alike, are wondering where the next female dissing Lil' Kim will come from and who it will be. Nicki is already one of the most popular rappers in the game, so she has no reason to diss anyone. At the same time, more and more rappers are dissing Lil' Kim. Her credit in the game is being taken away so rapidly that there is nothing for Nicki Minaj to even worry about, so she can fully focus on her career instead of the feud.

Jacki-O disses Lil' Kim

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Jacki-O is the latest rapper to diss Lil' Kim. Lil' Kim has been on the offense for months with disses aimed at Nicki Minaj. But, recently, Foxy Brown re-ignited her feud with Lil' Kim. Now, the woman who infamously fought Foxy Brown, Jacki-O, is sending shots at Lil' Kim.

Last month, Jacki-O announced her new persona. Her new persona is based on Griselda "The Black Widow" Blanco. She went as far as contacting Blanco's son to receive his blessing to name her mixtape after his mother. Blanco was an infamous female cocaine dealer.

Lil' Kim recently began calling herself "Kimmy Blanco." She is naming herself, too, after The Black Widow. Jacki-O has taken offense because she went as far as to speak with the family before she adopted the name. Meanwhile, Lil' Kim simply picked the name up to go along with her new rap style.

Jacki-O has released a diss record, "Bang Bang," which is aimed at Lil' Kim, but she does not call Lil' Kim out by name. By the way things are looking, Lil' Kim may need to align herself with Nicki Minaj instead of sending so many disses in her direction.

Foxy Brown plans to End Lil' Kim by finally releasing "Christmas Massacre"

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Foxy Brown caught Lil' Kim off guard when she re-ignited their feud. Most of Lil' Kim's energy has been invested in sending disses to Nicki Minaj. While Foxy Brown admitted she also does not care for Nicki, she would rather finish off Lil' Kim.

Last month, right before Christmas, Foxy Brown announced her new single, "Christmas Massacre." She intended to perform the song on Christmas Day in front of a crowd. But, one of her loved ones ended up in the hospital.

With so much going on, Foxy Brown decided to postpone her massacre. Earlier this month, a portion of the song was leaked and Foxy Brown assumed Lil' Kim was behind it. Today, the song was leaked entirely.

In the song, Foxy Brown calls out Lil' Kim over her beef with Nicki Minaj. By the looks of things, Lil' Kim will have her hands full with active feuds with both Nicki Minaj and Foxy Brown.

Foxy Brown discusses Lil' Kim diss

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

After being away from the game for some time, Foxy Brown made plans of coming back. She had recorded "Christmas Massacre," a diss aimed at Lil' Kim. Obviously, the song was supposed to be released on Christmas Day. But, an emergency stopped Foxy Brown from performing the song on Christmas.

Last week, Foxy Brown announced she had rescheduled her performance. With a new date set for the performance, her hardest job was making sure her song did not leak. Foxy Brown stressed to her team that no one is to hear her song yet. Despite what she said, the "Christmas Massacre" was released ahead of schedule.

With the song now released on the internet, Foxy Brown is laughing the pain away. She mentioned the leak on Twitter, saying someone on her team must be on Lil' Kim's payroll. Ever since the summer, the focus has been on Lil' Kim's feud with newcomer, Nicki Minaj. Foxy Brown has also expressed her dislike for Nicki, but she is still focused on settling the score with Lil' Kim.

Foxy Brown prepares Christmas Diss Record for Lil' Kim

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Lil' Kim has spent the majority of this year thinking of ways to blast newcomer, Nicki Minaj. She has had more headlines this year because of Nicki than she had in 2005 with her 5 mic album. The feud with Nicki Minaj has helped revive Lil' Kim's career. But, now that she is back, so is her rival.

Foxy Brown was Lil' Kim's biggest rival throughout the 1990s and the 2000s. Despite Foxy Brown having a bit of success, she never could match Lil' Kim's popularity. Along the way, Lil' Kim also began working with members of Foxy's team. By 2003, Foxy Brown was completely forgotten and Lil' Kim was posting hits.

But, by 2006, Lil' Kim was headed to prison and soon she was also forgotten. With Lil' Kim gone, it did not take long for most of the female rappers to disappear. In 2009, Nicki Minaj released the popular mixtape, Beam Me Up Scotty, and helped revive the female rap game. When 2010 rolled around, she took over the rap game and made enemies out of both Foxy Brown and Lil' Kim.

While Foxy Brown and Lil' Kim can agree on their dislike for Nicki Minaj, they cannot agree on anything else. Despite their mutual feelings, Foxy Brown still has the urge to diss Lil' Kim. At one point in time, the ladies were friends. Honoring that friendship, Foxy has decided to leave Kim a Christmas present. To be more exact, she is planning a "Christmas Massacre" for her former friend.
