By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Many argue Lil' Kim helped Maino establish his career, as he appeared in her "Lighters Up" video. For years, Maino was an underground rapper. However, with help from 50 Cent, he landed a deal with Universal Records. When things went downhill, Maino moved to Atlantic Records.

Currently, Maino is working on his second album, Day After Tomorrow. Recently, Maino spoke on one of the hottest topics in hip hop. Aside from Lil Wayne's diss on Jay-Z, many are still focused on the Lil' Kim/Nicki Minaj feud. Knowing them both, Maino said people focus too much on beef.

Maino and Nicki Minaj were both emerging at the same time, in the game. Because of this, they are good friends, having known each other for some time. But, due to his Queens background, Maino is also close with Lil' Kim and is an extended member of her crew. Despite the feud between the two women, Maino is still in good standing with both ladies.

Nas speaks on Foxy Brown, Amy Winehouse, Lil' Kim, Nicki Minaj, and feud with Cormega

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

With so many new voices and faces in the game, it is easy to forget about Nas. The last time he released a new album was three years ago. Despite achieving critical acclaim on his project with Damian Marley, the album did not receive much play.

While Nas may have been overlooked by some, he is well aware of what has gone on. Recently, Nasty Nas was very interactive on his Twitter account. Taking questions from his fans, Nas spoke on everything going on in his life. Ranging from serious topics, to off the wall, Nas talked.

Early in her career, Foxy Brown worked closely with Nas, but over the years, they have separated. During the height of his feud with Jay-Z, Nas called Jay out over his relationship with Foxy Brown. Despite all of this, Nas and Foxy Brown have maintained a strong relationship and Nas said she is his little sister.

On the topic of female rappers, Nas was asked to deliver his opinion about Lil' Kim and Nicki Minaj. For nearly a year, the two femcees went head-to-head. Nas said comparing the two rappers makes little to no sense. When speaking of Lil' Kim, Nas said she has some "legendary shit." Nicki Minaj, on the other hand, is the new queen of the world, in Nas' book. Trying his best to stay out of their situation, Nas was able to praise both of them, without taking away from the other.

Before her death, Amy Winehouse said she admired Nas. When asked of the people she would have loved to perform with, Nas was at the top of her list. At the time, Nas said he liked her brand of music and would love to record with her. Sadly, this did not happen, as Winehouse passed away last month. Remembering her, Nas was asked about Amy Winehouse. The Queens rapper said he was saddened by her death and also referred to her as his little sister.

Following the project with The Firm, Nas talked about his past feud with Cormega. Despite things getting bad between the two, Nas said their issues are in the past. Moving forward, Nas said he no longer has issues with Cormega. Nas also discussed the music he listens to, admitting he is a big Waka Flocka Flame fan and briefly speaking on his failed marriage with Kelis.

Last year, Lil' Kim returned to the forefront of the rap game. For years, fans had anticipated her return to the game. However, her return was not as many expected. The primary purpose Lil' Kim returned was to start trouble with Nicki Minaj.

Last month, Lil' Kim joined the stage with the newest G-Unit member, Shawty Lo. While performing, Lil' Kim announced she may soon be signing with 50 Cent's label. By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

50 Cent has wasted no time rebuilding his G-Unit label. After a few years of struggling, 50 Cent is signing new artists left and right. The biggest signing of the year was Shawty Lo and his D4L imprint.

Immediately following the D4L deal, Lil' Kim said she might also sign with G-Unit. Early in 50 Cent's career, he collaborated with Lil' Kim. Their collaboration led to a four-year beef, which was resolved in 2007.

Years ago, 50 Cent used to spark beef, now he goes after deals. In 2008, 50 Cent attempted to feud with current superstar, Lil Wayne. However, his attempts to diss Young Money failed.

Lil' Mama accuses Nicki Minaj of Stealing Her Style

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Ever since Nicki Minaj first signed with Young Money, she has been under the microscope with other female rappers. Lil' Kim has been the most critical of Nicki Minaj because she has received many comparisons to her. Three years before Nicki took over the game, there was another New York femcee in line.

In 2007, Lil' Mama released her debut single, "Lip Gloss." The video featured Lil' Kim, who served as Lil' Mama's mentor. Despite her quick start, Lil' Mama fizzled out a little over a year. Initially, she was hailed as the future of female rap. But, after her verse on "Shawty Get Loose," she was forgotten.

Lil' Mama made headlines in 2009, with her slight jabs at Nicki. But, for the most part, she has been an afterthought. Recently, Lil' Mama returned to the forefront, discussing Nicki Minaj. She said Nicki has been jacking her style, especially when it comes to the hair. In an interview with VIBE, Lil' Mama said she was actually flattered that Nicki Minaj is copying her.

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Lil' Kim has been baiting Nicki Minaj for nearly one year and finally has a feud on her hands. Each time Lil' Kim calls a truce, it is used by Nicki to re-ignite the beef. Most recently, Lil' Kim has tried to bring Keyshia Cole into the issue.

If anyone knows anything about hip hop beef, it is Ja Rule, seeing how he still trades barbs with 50 Cent. Unlike his own feud, Ja Rule said he thinks Lil' Kim and Nicki Minaj can resolve their differences.

Soon, Rule was asked about the Murder Inc. group. Before his successful solo career, Ja Rule, DMX, and Jay-Z made up the group, Murder Inc. While never officially recording with each other, they did plenty of features.

Ja Rule said the group did not work out due to the egos of the established artists in the group.

Lil' Kim revisits Nicki Minaj feud via Twitter

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Last month, several websites reported the feud between femcees Lil' Kim and Nicki Minaj was over. Both women were said to have met in private and ended their feud. This truce supposedly took place during Nicki's tour stop in Chicago.

Less than 24 hours after the story was reported, Nicki Minaj released another Lil' Kim diss. This comes in addition to her "Did it on 'Em" song, which is receiving heavy radio play. For a little over a month, not even a peep has come from Lil' Kim.

This length of silence is over and Lil' Kim is back in action, ready to take down the Black Barbie. On Twitter, Kim said she would never name her dog "Shitty Garbaj" because her dog looks much better than that bitch, referring to Minaj.

Nicki Minaj took shots at her on her remix to Britney Spears' "Til The World Ends." Lil' Kim has had enough and she is officially back in this beef. She called Nicki a coward for making Twitter posts about her and then removing them. Before ending her rant, Lil' Kim also made fun of Nicki Minaj's weave.

Da Brat says Nicki Minaj is leading the Pack

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Nicki Minaj has been a hot topic ever since she made her public debut last year. Immediately, she had an enemy with Lil' Kim and the two have traded barbs for nearly a year. Here in the past few months, their feud has finally died down.

With Lil' Kim seemingly out of the picture, Nicki Minaj has been able to provide more focus on her tour. Ever since she and Lil Wayne embarked upon the I Am Music II tour, Nicki Minaj has been on a lap dance spree. Steve Nash was her latest "victim."

Recently, Da Brat, a veteran femcee, was released from prison and she is on the comeback trail. However, unlike a few of the other veterans, she gave Nicki Minaj credit. Da Brat feels like Nicki is holding it down for all of the other female rappers.

In Da Brat's opinion and in the opinion of most fans, Nicki Minaj is leading the pack in the female rap game and she gives her props for reviving a dead sub-genre. Along with admiring her lyrical ability, Da Brat is also a fan of Nicki Minaj's wardrobe choices. Previously, Da Brat said she was not a major fan of the feud between Nicki and Lil' Kim.

Nicki Minaj releases Lil' Kim diss, "Tragedy"

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Yesterday, major news broke regarding the ongoing feud between female rappers, Nicki Minaj and Lil' Kim. After trading disses for nearly six months, the ladies agreed to end their feud. However, today, a new track from Nicki Minaj sounds very contradicting.

Lil' Kim attempted to broker peace with Nicki Minaj during the fall season of 2010. She said she would no longer release records disrespecting Nicki Minaj. One week after the announcement, Nicki released her "Roman's Revenge" record, re-igniting the feud.

However, this time around, Nicki Minaj and Lil' Kim met in person to settle their differences. Members of both their crews said it would be beneficial to make peace. Both women even said they had much respect for the other.

This is why Nicki Minaj's new song, "Tragedy," comes off as such as surprise. Nicki Minaj calls Lil' Kim out, comparing her career to the popularity of Shaquille O'Neal and Penny Hardaway of the Orlando Magic during the 1990s. She says Kim is like the present-day version of Shaq and Penny. Nicki also taunts Kim for using PayPal to sell copies of her Black Friday mixtape.

Funkmaster Flex assumes the lyrics will be a part of Nicki Minaj's verse on Tha Carter IV.

While Foxy Brown has been out of the spotlight, she has been trying to work with Tom Joyner. A few weeks ago, Brown called into his show, but the called abruptly ended. Joyner did not go in-depth, but he said Foxy ended the call.

She has been a part of the "Fantastic Voyage" cruise and was kicked off. Tom Joyner said a person really has to act a fool in order to be kicked out of one of his events. Foxy Brown was kicked off and a plane met her in the ocean.

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

While still promoting Pink Friday, Nicki Minaj is thinking about her future. Recently, when discussing her upcoming projects, she hinted about being back in the studio. Four months ago, Nicki released her debut album, Pink Friday.

The album was the first major release by a female rapper in years and was heavily promoted. Due to all of this promotion, the album has been a commercial success. Critics praise Nicki Minaj for bringing lyricism back to hip hop.

Pink Friday has broken nearly every record posted by female rappers over the past few years. Nicki Minaj is proud of her accomplishments, but she wants more. Despite her success, doubters think she is only a fad.

Even with a high-profile feud and winning, Nicki Minaj has doubters. She says her next album, which could be released this year, will put all of the critics to rest. Nicki also hinted at giving a true diss record to Lil' Kim on the album.

Lil' Kim opens up about Diddy feud

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Last year, Lil' Kim expected Diddy to step up in her defense when she began dissing Nicki Minaj. At the time, there were rumors of the female sensation actually dating Diddy. Soon, Diddy stepped in as the new manager for Nicki Minaj. Doubled with the dating rumors, this angered Lil' Kim.

This summer, Lil' Kim made it clear she had major issues with the new boss in female rap. Diddy soon said Lil' Kim should calm down and create her own lane. These comments led to Lil' Kim also dissing Diddy. Early in their careers, Diddy and Lil' Kim relied heavily on each other.

Because of everything they had been through, Lil' Kim said she would have stuck with Diddy no matter what. She was just so upset that he did not have her back. This stems long before the Nicki beef, too, this also goes back to when Lil' Kim was in prison. Despite Diddy saying he had so much love for Kim, he did not pay her a single visit in prison and he later openly sided with Nicki Minaj.

Lil' Kim is upset because Diddy has allowed Nicki Minaj to openly disrespect her, while he is serving as her manager. She feels Diddy has changed, because he would not have allowed this to happen in the past. Diddy spoke once on the beef and he said he has love for both Lil' Kim and Nicki Minaj. Like most of the other male rappers, Diddy wants Lil' Kim and Nicki Minaj to end their feud and work together.
