Dr. Dre to appear on "The R.E.D. Album"
By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer
The reason fans did not receive Game's long-awaited album, The R.E.D. Album, sooner, was because Dr. Dre wanted to work on it. Only months before the official release of the album, Game and Dr. Dre reunited. Because of this, Game's album had to be slightly altered.
What was supposed to be only a few months' wait turned out to be two years. Game is currently preparing to release his album within a month. With the album's release right around the corner, Game has a big announcement. Not only is Dr. Dre providing production, he will also be rapping.
Fans have been waiting a long time on Game's album, but the wait for Dr. Dre's own album, Detox, spans Game's entire career and then some. Even after the release of The R.E.D. Album, all fans will have from Detox is "I Need a Doctor," "Chillin'," and "Die Hard." After heavy promotion towards the end of both 2008 and 2010, Dr. Dre has still delayed what he says will be his final album. Read more...

Dr. Dre ends 50 Cent feud, G-Unit leader joins "Detox"
By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer
For years, there were rumors of a closet feud between Dr. Dre and 50 Cent. These rumors began when 50 Cent kicked Game out of G-Unit and Dr. Dre soon released him from Aftermath. The story was told over the next few years.
When his album, Curtis, did not fare so well, 50 Cent placed the blame upon Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine. 50 Cent began sending several light disses to Dr. Dre. At times, 50 spoke publicly on the feud, but said he would never directly diss Dr. Dre.
This March, 50 Cent revealed Dr. Dre was upset over his headphone line. This is something Dr. Dre denied before calling out an unnamed rival in "I Need a Doctor." Some speculated he was actually going after 50 Cent.
Recent news, however, has proven otherwise. 50 Cent has been invited, by Dr. Dre to record on Detox, the album which will house "I Need a Doctor." No solid release date for the album, or song, has been released to the public. Read more...

Dr. Dre and Eminem prepare New Single
By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer
For the first time in over a decade, Dr. Dre has songs playing on the radio. Years have passed since Dr. Dre has done anything more than a guest appearance. But, with Detox being delayed for so many years, Dr. Dre decided to get the album out of the way.
Last fall, Dr. Dre got his feet wet with his "Kush" single. The song featured Snoop Dogg and Akon. A minor hit, it helped introduce Dr. Dre to the new generation of hip hop. The song did well, but it did not have the impact of "I Need a Doctor." It is said to be the first official single.
Headlined by two Eminem verses, the song details the relationship of Dr. Dre and Eminem. It also tells of how Dre has dealt with the criticism over the years. As epic as the first single was, it is said to have nothing on the upcoming Detox single. Next week, Dr. Dre will premiere the new single, "Die Hard," which features Eminem.
The song will premiere following Showtime's "Fight Camp 360°: Pacquiao vs. Mosley." The premiere will take place on May 6, 2011 at 10 pm. Read more...

Is Dr. Dre the King of Hip Hop?
By The Voice
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer
For well over twenty years, Dr. Dre has been one of the biggest names in hip hop. At one point or another, any major rapper in the game has crossed pathes with him. While Dr. Dre will not go down in history for his lyrical ability, many consider him to be the greatest producer of all-time.
Single-handedly, Dr. Dre made Eazy-E into a marketable rap star, along with Ice Cube's lyrics. When Dr. Dre left Ruthless Records, the impact was felt. Eazy-E's career fell off and Snoop Dogg emerged as the new West Coast star. Dr. Dre has been doing this throughout his career.
Following Snoop Dogg's success, Dr. Dre molded Eminem into the beast of hip hop. With Eminem, they helped make 50 Cent into the biggest star hip hop had ever seen. In the middle of 50's reign, Dre made Game into the biggest sensation from California since Snoop Dogg. Along the way, there have been a few flops, but Dr. Dre has created several stars.
While Knoc-Turn'Al and Xzibit never took over the rap game, each of them posted successful hits because they were associated with Dr. Dre. After being away from the game for twelve years, Dr. Dre has released one single and it has taken the radio by storm. "I Need a Doctor" is the biggest hit of 2011 and will likely remain that way with the summer right around the corner. Hits such as this come effortlessly for Dr. Dre, because of this, is he the real king of hip hop? Read more...
