Juelz Santana talks Diplomats reunion and New Album

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

What may have been more surprising than The Diplomats breaking up was likely their reunion. When the crew split, Cam'ron tried, several times, to reconcile. Each time he reached out, Jim Jones refused to hear it. In 2009, Cam'ron made his official comeback and Jim Jones wanted to reunite.

Cam'ron, at this point, was done with the feud and focused on his business ventures. Before the end of 2009, Cam'ron and Jim Jones reunited and Diplomat Records was back. By 2010, the members were completing their obligations to land an exclusive distribution deal.

Diplomat Records, including all the Dipset members, landed with Interscope Records. Irv Gotti later revealed he helped the crew land this deal. For over a year, The Diplomats have been signed to Interscope Records. For over two years, they have been reunited. With all this, fans have remained patiently waiting on their Diplomatic Immunity 3.

Juelz Santana recently discussed this, saying all the individual members are currently working on new solo albums. However, they do not want to rush their group project. They have started working on the new album, but they are not going to force things on the new album.

Jim Jones speaks on Diplomat reunion album

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Last year, Cam'ron and Jim Jones ended their feud of three years. When the former partners reunited, the team did, too. During their feud, the original members of the Diplomats sided with Jim Jones. On the other hand, Cam'ron had to start another crew.

For over a year, the Diplomats have been back together. The new members have also fit in very well with each other. Interscope Records had noticed the Diplomats and they signed them to their label. Dr. Dre and Eminem will be workin with them.

Despite having a new label deal with Interscope Records, Dr. Dre and Eminem ready to produce records, and significant buzz, no official album has come from the Diplomats. Jim Jones, the capo of Diplomat Records explained the delays. While Diplomat Records and their group, the Diplomats, have signed the new deal with Interscope Records, many of the individual artists have not. However, all of them want to make the move over to Interscope Records.

Once all of the artists are out of their deals, with their various labels, they will sign to Diplomat/Interscope and will begin putting the new Diplomats album together.

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

In a little over a month, Maino will release his long-awaited sophomore album, Day After Tomorrow. Before the release of his album will be his mixtape, I Am Who I Am. The mixtape is sub-titled The Album Before The Album.

Despite I Am Who I Am truly being a mixtape, Maino said he is treating it more like an album. Working with several DJs for the album, Maino said this will be a real mixtape. He will have freestyles, along with new music, for the album.

During an interview with BET.com, Maino revealed a number of guest appearances. Maino has recruited Ace Hood, Yo Gotti, Prodigy, Trina, and Jim Jones. With that type of lineup, the mixtape is truly an album before an album.

DJ Khaled speaks on Unity in Hip Hop

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

DJ Khaled is known for bringing several artists together on the same track. In 2007, DJ Khaled was involved in a minor feud with Young Buck. At the time, Buck was still in good graces with 50 Cent. When he tried to diss DJ Khaled, Khaled said he was about unity instead of beef.

Throughout his career, DJ Khaled has tried to stop beefs from happening. In 2008, he helped end the "cold war" between his partner, Fat Joe, and Jay-Z. With Khaled's help, the two rappers took the stage together. However, not all of Khaled's efforts have been successful.

Recently, Lil Wayne, a frequent Khaled collaborator, decided to diss Jay-Z. Rick Ross and Young Jeezy re-ignited their feud after DJ Khaled promised it had ended. Just yesterday, Jim Jones, a frequent collaborator of Lil Wayne's, decided to diss him. Still, DJ Khaled is focused on mending fences in the game.

At the 2011 BMI Awards, DJ Khaled said it was very important for artists to stick together. Khaled said unity is what helps artists last longer in the game. Aside from lasting longer, it also brings a positive message to the overall community. At the end of the day, DJ Khaled said entertainers should remember there are people from all walks of life who look up to them.

Jim Jones disses Lil Wayne, calls him out on Gang Affiliation

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Last night, Lil Wayne closed out the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards and fans took notice. Lil Wayne's outfit attracted more attention than his performance. Wearing spandex pants, Wayne performed "How to Love" and "John (If I Die Today)."

For years, Jim Jones has been a strong Lil Wayne supporter. The two rappers have made several songs together. Jones had almost recruited the Young Money CEO in his feud against Jay-Z. Since Weezy has called Jay-Z out, many would think Jim Jones would be reaching out.

This morning, Jim Jones did reach out, but not as expected. Through his Twitter account, Jim Jones said "real men don't wear spandex." It seems as if he was going after Lil Wayne. Jones went on to say it is funny how entertainers get rich and begin claiming Blood gang.

Without saying names, Jim Jones called out his old friend and former collaborator, Lil Wayne.
