By The Hip Hop Writer

Throughout his life, T.I. has had several troubles with the law enforcement. He speaks of this on his song, "Still Ain't Forgave Myself." However, three years later, T.I. was arrested right when his career took off.

Following his 2004 bid, T.I. came out stronger than ever, hitting new peaks in his career. In 2008, T.I. reached new heights and the sky was the limit. It was during this period when things came crashing down.

T.I. was sent back to prison over a gun charge he picked up in 2007 after his life was threatened. In 2010, T.I. was released from prison and determined to get back to the top. But, as he climbed, he stumbled and landed back in prison.

There were rumors T.I.'s most-recent prison sentence ending this past week. While T.I.'s lawyer denied this, the embattled rapper was released from prison anyways. However, there was controversy surrounding how T.I. left the facility. His using a tour bus landed him right back in prison. Recently, it was revealed that T.I.'s next prison release will be on September 29, 2011.

By The Hip Hop Writer

Earlier this week, it was announced that T.I. would be released from prison at the end of August. One day after the story was reported, T.I.'s lawyer denied this. Tip's lawyer said the reports were false and no one knows when a prisoner will be released until seconds beforehand.

The following day, T.I. was released from prison in an odd turn of events. Now, the story gets crazier, as T.I. has been removed from the halfway house. The platinum-selling rapper is now back in federal custody. T.I. is back in federal custody because of his method of transportation.

Upon being released from prison, T.I. agreed to have his own transportation. The form of transportation he chose was a tour bus. Currently, the federal courts are reviewing this. Prison officials objected to his use of a tour bus to leave prison. It is unknown what the future will hold for T.I.

Does T.I. deserve a Third Chance?

By The Angry Black Man
Hip Hop Vibe Contributor

Throughout his career, T.I. had presented himself as a gangsta rapper. T.I. began his career signed to Arista Records, but he was dropped when his album did not sell. Because he did not want to face further rejection, the Atlanta rapper created his own label, Grand Hustle Records, and began releasing mixtapes. In 2003, T.I. partnered with Atlantic Records and released his second album, Trap Muzik. This album forever changed the rapper's life.

Immediately, T.I. was a platinum rapper and the CEO of his own profitable company. But, he still only portrayed himself as a rapper. As his hits added up, more rappers from the Atlanta area wanted to be a part of Grand Hustle Records. In 2005, he signed Young Dro and quickly decided to put him in the studio. T.I. also expanded the company into Grand Hustle Films around this time. During the summer of 2006, the company came out with the box office success, ATL.

Later in the year, T.I. also founded his AKOO clothing line, but T.I. still only promoted himself as a rapper when he was so much more. By 2007, T.I. had organized his clothing line, film company, and record label under one banner, Grand Hustle Entertainment and he made himself the CEO. While T.I. was the face of the company, he was caught with guns and sentenced to one year in prison. Upon being released, T.I. presented himself as a businessman as opposed to being another rapper.

Released a free man, T.I. put together a squeaky-clean image as a hip hop entrepreneur, but it did not last long as he went back to prison. T.I. has been a man about the situation and owned up to his mistakes. He is calling upon the same people once again for forgiveness. But, the question is, does T.I. deserve what will be a third chance?

T.I. changes Album Title and Returns to Prison

By The Hip Hop Writer

The road to redemption for T.I. is going to be a little bit longer than he expected. When he first got out of prison, T.I. worked overtime to repair his image. Last month, all of the hard work went right out of the window. Now, T.I. is headed back to prison for 11 months.

His album was supposed to be titled King Uncaged, since T.I. was celebrating his return. But, since he is headed right back to prison, there is no need to celebrate. Because of this, Tip has renamed his album to No Mercy. Not only has T.I. lost his perfect album title, but he has also lost endorsements.

Axe deodorant has decided to pull their endorsement from T.I. in the wake of his legal woes. Remy Martin liquor had given T.I. a lucrative contract, giving him an executive role. While they claim to still have love for T.I., they have relieved him of his duties.

Now, T.I. will spend his remaining free days making his rounds and rerecording his track. Because of his recent legal troubles, T.I. will not be able to celebrate his freedom, so he is creating music to match the feeling. Just like last time, T.I. will be preparing his team for the promotion of his album because he will not be able to do it in person. Not only is T.I. headed back to prison, but it is the exact same place he went before in Arkansas. Before he heads back to Arkansas on November 1, T.I. plans to shoot a few videos for the album.

No Mercy, T.I.'s seventh album, is currently set for a December 7 release date, although many feel the album will be pushed back until sometime in 2011.

T.I. avoids Drug Charges, Suffers Album Delays

By The Hip Hop Writer

Late last year, T.I. was released from prison and he promised himself, his family, and his fans that he would do better this time around. Earlier this year, T.I. made his first public appearance. For the sake of his company, the Atlanta rapper turned from an urban look to a professional look. No longer wearing the baggy clothes, T.I. was only found wearing suits.

Things were looking great for T.I. until his trip to Los Angeles last month with his wife, Tiny. While driving through the city, the newlyweds were pulled over by the police. During a routine search, the officers found drugs in the car and T.I. had violated his parole. For almost two years, T.I. had been doing all he could to repair his image in the spotlight.

Despite T.I.'s guilt, the fans have not given up on him and they have rallied behind their hero. All of their well-wishes have benefited T.I., as he will not be brought up on drug charges. While he will not be charged for drug possession, all things are not well with Tip. Though he beat the drug charges, the parole violation may land him back in prison for eleven months.

In the wake of this news, Atlantic Records decided to push T.I.'s comeback effort, King Uncaged, back from a November release to a December 7 release date. While the album has currently been delayed to a release in December, most people believe his album has been pushed back until sometime next year. Even with the possibility of the album being delayed even farther, Young Dro reported that T.I. has filmed over eight videos for the album.

T.I. cancels Penn State concert

By The Hip Hop Writer
Hip Hop Vibe Staff Writer

Due to all of his legal woes, T.I. has cancel his highly anticipated concert in Pennsylvania. The rapper was fresh out of prison for a 2007 gun charge when he got back into trouble. Last month, in Los Angeles, he and Tiny, his wife, were caught with drugs in their car.

By the way things appear, T.I. may soon be heading back to prison. However, this time, he would be in California instead of Georgia. There is a slight chance he could be brought up on charges in Georgia because of a parole violation. But, his camp is hoping for the best.

Fans of T.I. at Penn State were hoping he would be able to come to town on September 24 to put on a good show. Had the circumstances been normal, T.I. would have gladly been there. However, he is facing more charges and he cannot seem as if he is taking his release for granted by violating the law and then going off to perform. If he is cleared of the charges, T.I. may do a show for the college kids.
